Week 11: Miami Debacle; Dawgs and Buffaloes in the Lion’s Den; Charity update

Greetings SEMBBers!
Well, what a week. Started off crappy and now will end in downtown Detroit.

First, my thanks to all the well-wishers who replied back and sent their congratulations. My family thanks you for the kind words and expressions!

OK, on to a quick update.
DEBACLE IN MIAMI
After the high of watching us deliver a butt-whooping to the Bungles the previous Monday night, last Sunday was a huge, embarrassing letdown. As I said in a text to a club member, The Browns were out-planned, out-played and out-coached. Enough said.

DAWGS AND BUFFALOES IN THE LION’S DEN
As everyone probably knows by now, the Browns-Bills game has been moved out of Buffalo to a (allegedly) neutral location–Ford Field in downtown Detroit.

I’ve already had several inquiries from other backers clubs about our viewing location, ticket availability and whether we plan on doing anything special either the night before or game day. Here’s where we stand–We will have our normal viewing party at the Sports Den in Northville. I’ve extended an invitation to those out-of-town backers to join us if they want.Ticket availability is still unclear at this time (9:30 pm, Thursday 11/17) but I believe past practices have essentially opened up availability as general admission. As soon as I know anything I will post on our Facebook page.As for activities, I don’t have the time or resources to put together a tailgate game day morning on such short notice. However, I have been contacted by the Browns about helping them to put together a Saturday night bash and will be talking with them tomorrow morning to see what can be accomplished. As soon as I have more details I will post on our Facebook page. So, stay tuned. It is a 1 pm kickoff. I will be at the Den helping to host the viewing for those members–and guests–who come in to watch.

CHARITY UPDATE
This Sunday is the last chance for you to contribute to our ‘Change For Charity’ bottle. We’ll have it with us at the Den. Afterwards, I’ll count out the donations and put it together to present to the Marine Reserve commander the following week at the Elf Pack tailgate in the Port Authority lot (next to the William Mather).

Still trying to round up all the items for the auction for our two local charities, so launch is delayed a bit.

That’s it for this week except…

GO BROWNS!!!
