| Greetings SEMBBers!Well, here we are in Week 12 of the season. The Browns are 2-8 and will field their third starting quarterback tomorrow. I know its hard, but its nothing we Browns fans haven’t faced in the past. Now, all those who’ve been clamoring for Shadeur Sanders to start will get their wish. I hope they’re faith in the fifth round prospect will be fulfilled, but I have my doubts. As you may have gleaned, I’m not a fan of Sanders, but the problems with the team–especially the Offense –go far beyond the individual player. The game planning is uninspiring and predictable. But I will still cheer them on, because I’m a fan for life and I believe that one day (hopefully soon) fortune will smile on this organization and they will field a competitive and entertaining team. |
| LOSING TO THE RATBIRDS The only thing almost as galling as a loss to the Squealers is a loss to Baltimore. That being said, we had an entertaining game for nearly three quarters, albeit mostly due to some great plays by the Defense. Kudos to Devin Bush and rookie Carson Schwesinger–both with key defensive plays in the game. And, of course, I have to mention the other bright shining spot on the Defense–Myles Garrett. Four sacks in the game, giving him a running total of 15 for the season. He is on pace to shatter the single season record of 22.5 set by Michael Strahan and matched by TJ Watt. Offensively, it was boring and barely effective for three quarters. Gabriel did what he could the first half, but he was playing off a game plan directed by Tommy Reese, and as I said earlier, a game plan that was predictable and uninspired. Sanders came in cold, had a few brief flashes, but in the end he played like a rookie and couldn’t get the offense moving. I’ll not get into the gory details of the fourth quarter. Let’s just say the wheels came off and we lost the game. VEGAS, BABY! The Browns are in Las Vegas to take on the Raiders (yes, that team formerly located in Oakland and Los Angeles). The Raiders are 2-8, and will be missing two of their key offensive linemen–which hopefully bodes well for Myles! It is a 4:25 pm game. Yeah, I know, back-to-back afternoon games, go figure. At least statistically we have a good chance to win the game. The game will not be broadcast locally, so why not join me and the rest of the faithful at the Northville Sports Den tomorrow afternoon to watch the game and cheer on the Browns. As the saying goes “Any given Sunday.” I hope to see you tomorrow! That’s all for now except, of course, always and forever… GO BROWNS!!!
