Greetings SEMBBers!Fifty-five minutes of growing dread and resignation, followed by five minutes of growing hope and happiness, capped by amazed joy! An unbelievable finish.
So, after three weeks, the Browns are tied for ‘second’ place in the AFC North with the Ratbirds. Cincy and the Squeelers are tied for first place.
WOW! WHAT A FINISH
I’ll give credit to the Defense, they played an outstanding game. Stifling Green Bay’s running game and rattling Jordan Love most of the game. The capstone, of course, was Grant Delpit’s interception in the fourth quarter.
The Offense still looked out of sync, but got the job done when it mattered. Quinshon Judkins looks like he is living up to expectations, and Harold Fannin Jr. is starting to shape up as a real steal. But the receiving corps is still needs help.
And let’s talk Andre Szmyt. From Week 1 Goat to Week 3 hero. The game-winning field goal was a thing of beauty. Now we also know why he was off his game at the start of the season–he lost his mother, who he was very close to, two months prior to the start of season. That kind of loss would rattle anyone. And now it makes sense why the Browns coaches and management were patient with him after the loss against Cincinnati.
And dare I say many of this rookie class is making an immediate impact with the team?
BROWNS IN THE MOTOR CITY
The Lions were able to defeat Baltimore last night to climb to 2-1 and will host the Browns this Sunday. As previously stated, we will not be hosting a Saturday night Bash, or a tailgate. As for the game itself, we will have a viewing at The Den hosted by Susan and we will have come raffle items available. Kickoff again is 1 pm.
WEEK 1 UNPAID CHECK
I mentioned this two weeks ago, and meant to address it last week but didn’t. To refresh, the Den claimed a check was not paid during the Week 1 viewing. Here is a photo:
I paid this check on Week 2. Now, if you believe you paid this the week before, please send me a copy of your bank/credit card statement showing the payment and I will pursue getting a credit. If you somehow forgot to pay it, I would appreciate a reimbursement.
