Greetings SEMBBers!Well, we’re in Week 5 and the Browns sit and 1-3.
Flacco is out, Gabriel is in. Tillman is on IR. And, GASP!, there are rumblings about Watson coming off IR.
Unfortunately, its just another season following the Browns.UGH! AGAIN!
I won’t get into a detailed post-mortem on the 34-10 loss against the Lions. Those of us watching the game know it all too painfully well. However, here’s just a few points I do want to make:Despite the final outcome, the Defense continues to generally play at the highest level in the league. Yes, there were some errors made, but then in some instances they were playing on a short field. We’ll have to see how they respond this week.
The Offense is a mess. Granted, a good chunk of the blame should rest on Flacco–but it is not all on him! Too many dropped passes, abysmal O-line blocking, and predictable play calling, The whole unit (and Coach Stefanski) should be wearing the goat horns on this one. We’ll have to see how Dillon Gabriel does in London. And if anyone is on the Sanders’ bandwagon, his little tantrum this week gave us a glimpse of what he’s really like. I’m sorry, I don’t think he’s the answer.
LONDON CALLING, BUT NO VIEWING
As announced earlier in the season, we will have NO VIEWING of the 9:30 am game this Sunday. The Browns are the “HOME” team even though it is at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the UK.
To be brutally honest, we don’t have near enough attendance at regular viewing times for us to even try to convince The Den to have opened up early for us. Yes, I know the product on the field isn’t all that entertaining or impressive and I can fully understand reluctance to participate but the reality is without larger turnouts, we take what we can get.
That’s all for now except, of course, always and forever…
